Last weekend, stars like Alec Baldwin, Susan Sarandon and Sienna Miller flocked to Long Island's premier resort destination for the exclusive Hamptons International Film Festival. But what everyone was really gazing at were the incredible Baume & Mercier watches on display, especially at the kickoff gala held on October 5.
At the Wolffer Estate in Sagaponack, New York, which features a gorgeous rustic Tuscan styling and outdoor spaces overlooking the property's vineyards, the celebs came out to play, dine, see and be seen. Guests sipped the property's signature vint and snacked on delectable hors d'oeuvres like artichoke fritters and tuna tartare. Alan Cummings and Bella Heathcote were among the many captured on film, wine glasses in hand, admiring the pristine cases filled with Baume & Mercier timepieces.
The Swiss watchmaker was the lead sponsor of the 2012 Hamptons Film Festival, and remained the center of attention throughout all the screenings and private parties. B&M doled out several coveted Golden Starfish awards, including Umat Dag's "Kuma" and Cate Shortland's "Lore" for Best Narrative Features and Tora Mårten's "Colombianos" for Best Documentary.
The timepieces chosen for exhibition at the opening gala and during the festival were exclusives from the Linea and Hamptons (appropriately) collections, and varied from conservative classic models to ultra-complex chronographs to diamond-encrusted showboats and fashion plates.
Whatever your taste in film or fashion, there was a B&M watch to suit it. If you missed this year's spectacular celebration, our only suggestion is to get yourself on the guest list for the 2013 fall film festivities. And for the impatient timepiece lover, Philippe's Watches offers a variety of incredible Baume & Mercier watches online.
