The latest in the 007 franchise, "Skyfall," which happens to debut during the celebration of 50 years of the legendary films, will hit movie screens in two weeks. But already, there's a buzz in Hollywood about Daniel Craig, the current James Bond, and it has little to do with plot spoilers or scandalous gossip.
In "Skyfall," Craig sports an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean, and the screenshots released from the film suggest that Mr. Bond likes it. He can be seen in several photographs doing the Bond equivalent of brushing back one's hair and adjusting his tie to show off his watch.
More excitement has erupted over the ultra-limited-edition 007 Planet Ocean Skyfall, which was produced to commemorate the film, the franchise's 50th anniversary and Omega's continuing partnership with Craig. Only 5,007 of these watches have been made, so it's unlikely you'll be able to get your hands on one unless you're in Omega's inner circle. Slightly more available are two other special-editions created for the anniversary: two Seamaster Diver 300M watches, one with a 41 mm case and one measuring 36.25 mm.
Omega began supplying watches to Mr. Bond in 1995, when Pierce Brosnan debuted as the British spy in "GoldenEye," bringing the series back to center stage in pop culture after a half-decade hiatus. Since Brosnan's four films, Daniel Craig has led the modern reboot of the thrilling saga. "Skyfall" will mark his third appearance in the role.
If you're a fan of the films but haven't grabbed one of the Skyfall series timepieces, Philippe's has one of the 40th anniversary Omega Seamaster 300M watches, made for Pierce Brosnan's Bond, available at our Beverly Hills watch store.
